Determination of appropriate saturation curing temperature of Low Grade Massecuites.

Abdul Aziz Tahir

Abstract

Determination of Saturation Temperature for curing of Low Grade Massecuites is a complex matter as it depends on many variables. In general it varies with the variation of the massecuite purity and its viscosity and the exhaustion facility of the plant. Therefore the determined saturation temperature of one sugar factory cannot be applied as such at another factory. Ranipur Sugar Mills conducted a study to determine the best possible saturation curing temperature of B and C massecuites. The saturation temperature of B Massecuite after passing was found to be 55 °C and for C Massecuite it was 56 ,degrees.C after passing through a set of vertical crystallizers and a massecuite re-heater.
